Stockton Trap and Skeet Club

Some of our Club members shoot at the Stockton Trap and Skeet Club on the third
Wednesday on each month. All are invited to join in. Shooters alternate bringing food...BBQ
hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwich meat, condiments, sometimes just bring sandwiches...or
whatever the person wants to bring...SO, if someone wants to join in, they should let one of
the regular shooters know so enough food will be provided......or the person/ persons can
bring their own lunch. The shooters usually will let the others know when they cannot
come. We all have our priorities.

Regular shooters are Larry Wagoner, Roger Hatin, Tom Kenny, Fred Tautenhahn
and sometimes Will Peterson. The shooters meet at the Skeet range, usually by the
restrooms, at 10:00 AM (or there about). The shooters will shoot a couple rounds of Skeet,
then take a break for lunch, then shoot a couple more rounds @ $5.00 per round. (Larry is a
member of the Club, so all shooting is at member's prices.) Trap and 5-stand Sporting Clays
are also available. Each shooter must supply their own Shotgun / Ammo and drinks (beer is
allowed). The shooters are usually finished around 2:00 PM but the club is open....even for
night shooting.

The range is open on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. The range is used for
National Skeet and Trap meets, so the week-ends are usually crowded.....Wednesdays are
slower and there are usually no delays. It is a large, comfortable area with lots of trees and
grass, tables and chairs. It is also a BOCCE BALL CLUB....up front.

The Stockton Trap and Skeet Club is almost exactly 100 miles from our Foster
City Club meeting clubhouse and is, of course, in Stockton. To get there, find yourself a
California State map. Find where highway 99 intersects highway 88. From 99, exit onto 88
towards Jackson and Waterloo. On 88, about a mile from 99, turn left onto Ashley and the
range is right there, immediately on the left. After turning left, into the parking lot, the
Bocce Club is on the right......drive past the Bocce Club and the Shotgunning Clubhouse is
across the second parking lot from the Bocce Club. The Sheet ranges are lined up on the
other side of the Shotgunning Clubhouse and the restrooms are down the line, in the only
other building there. Skeet is usually shot on field #6...because it is in a shady area and
cars can be driven right up to the fields.....restrooms are close, too.

The third Wednesday last month, only Larry and Fred were there. They shot Skeet
and wanted to shoot Trap but Larry didn't bring a BIG gun. They shot the 5-stand Sporting
Clays....with Fred's 12 gage....and they really enjoyed it. The 5-stand is a "kick". All
shooters might want to think about bringing guns to shoot any and all of the fields
available. Skeet is the main sport but it is Shooter's choice.
