Well I believe summer has finally come. But you could not tell that to the entire brave people that showed up at the Sly Park Campout. Jim and I applaud you. We were going to attend but the weather and our poor equipment just did not justify it. (Also our wives had something to say about it.) I read the article about the trip and it seemed that the weather did not dampen the spirits of the members that attended. Well, there is always next year which I hear will be a week later. We will bring in Summer at our July 6 meeting. Everyone should be rested up after the three day Fourth weekend. It will be a picnic theme which conjures up lots of ideas such as fried chicken, great salads, cold cuts, appetizers, vegetables, fruits and not to forget, the desserts. Also, some white wine would go great. Summer also reminds me of baseball and Darold has tickets for the Sunday, July 10 game, which is against St. Louis. The game is nationally televised so it will start at 5:05 pm instead of the advertised time of 1 PM. That means more time to tailgate. As you can see from above that I lost my Vice President and there is an opening. If you are interested in becoming a board member, (you don’t have to start at the top) let me or any board member know of your interest. The pay is poor but the hours are good.
