Pigeon Shoot
Rocky Ferraro/Bob Kruger

Bob Kruger and company have been keeping the secret of their shoot
prowess but folks the cats now out of the bag. They get a lot of
practice on actual game when the seasons we all hunt are closed.
They do this and help the farming industry all in one shot!
Yes, they go hunt for that time honored game that some of our finest
shotguns are named after, the pigeon.

Below is a web link and an email on what they are planning and how to
go about this shooting sport. Even though they appear lifeless in the
photo these are not clay pigeons folks. At one time they were flying up
down and all around, kind of like shooting doves or big doves.
PS. Let’s try and keep this quiet, if Bob finds out we are listening in on
his emails he may not like it

SHHHHHH! Bob’s email
I have also located a source for full body and silhouette decoys at a
reasonable price.  If we want to do more of the shoots I will pick up
several dozen and we can set up our own shoot site.  I think we can
really lighten up the load by using aluminum poles for the blind and a
light weight stake for the rotary decoy.  If we get a couple of aluminum
rods and two light weight pigeon decoys we can also probably do
away with the car battery and the wire, as the small flashers like Bob
has and Justin built would be plenty.  All told we could be much lighter.
A case of shells each in a back pack, and I have a sled to put the
decoys, chairs and blind in and off we go.  Next time we should be
sure to bring along water for the dogs as Gordy was pretty dehydrated
after the hunt and the water will soon not be in the fields.
I wonder if any of the dairy farmers you know in Lodi have access to
corn fields like we were in?
