Don Woods, Darold Givens and Jim Robinson with silver salmon at Oroville .
Jim Robinson with his first salmon of the season.
Jim Robinson, Justin Purdhel and I left Oyster Pt. in Jim's beautiful 21 ft. North River and started trolling just out of the harbor. We were in 30 ft of water and caught our first fish, a striper. Nice start but soon we had a nice 36" halibut. We then caught two more stripers and then a lull. In the afternoon we moved closer to the tubes in Brisbane and trolled the reef. Just put the lines in and another halibut. The weather was nice, very few boats and radio traffic showed that fish was scarce but we ended with 2 halibut and 3 strippers.
Less than one hour into the hunt by the new vineyard on the property. Jim McMillen and Gene Ferpo guided by Joe LoSchiavo. Jim’s bird was as close to 25 lbs as I have ever seen and had a10" beard. Gene’s was slightly smaller and a Shorter beard no measuring device.
Rocky Ferraro took advantage of the March Madness at Quail Point Hunt Club and went pheasant and chucker hunting. He used a couple of the club’s pointers and got his birds. Rocky said “It’s a challenge to take pictures by yourself and not lose the bird”.
