| Goose Hunting Alturas By Joe Miller My dad Bill and I spent the weekend hunting over dry fields in pit blinds, over water on ponds, large reservoirs, and also pass shooting geese to and from watering area's. We hunted thanksgiving weekend with 4 hunters. The first day was in a dry field and we shot limits by about 10:30. The 2nd day was pass shooting the geese as they came off a reservoir. We did this in two different areas and then we set up in one of the reservoirs and waited for the geese to come back to water. The guide was good at moving us around to where the geese were going to fly in and this was a key to our success. It took us until about 12:00 noon to get our limits. We also got 3 ducks while waiting for the geese to come in. I've hunted with Brent for 2 years and had very good hunts both times. He also has some deer properties available that he guides.
