| Amazing Columbian Black Tail Trophy By Tony Naples I had a hard week of hunting but it paid off with this black tail! I had not see a buck in six days, than late on the sixth day I saw a whopper of a buck, he was wide and was a 5x4. When I got him in my scope he was long gone. The next morning 10 minutes out of camp, I was going to look for the whopper and this guy popped out of the creek. He ran up the opposite side hill and stopped at 170 yards. One shot from my .270 win and he went down. I than ran over to were he was, my partner asked me, what can I do to help? After looking at him, I answered back, help me catch my breath. I then went back down to camp and got my buddy John out of bed. I was still so excited I told John, “Just tell me what to do to get him out?” John had a wild ATV ride getting to him. After measuring him and taking a few pictures; we had nail biting time getting the buck back to the road. It took me 2 hours to skin and cape him out; my hands were shaking the whole time. I can normally do it in half the time. This is not my first buck but this is the most excited I think I have ever been. The black tail was 27" wide 18" tall 3x3 with 4" eye guards.
